What is a PTA?

The PTA is a national organization made up of parents, teachers, staff, school administrators and community leaders devoted to child advocacy. Long story short - it’s a group of people who want to make their school a better place for every single student.

If I join, do I have to volunteer all of the time?

No! We will never force you to volunteer. Although we always welcome volunteers, we know that everyone has their own things going on and that’s okay! You can support the PTA in other ways!

If I work full time, can I still be a member of the PTA?

YES! Most of our PTA members ARE working parents! There are so many ways to help the students while still maintaining a full time job!

Meet Our Team

  • Caroline Shoemaker

    President

    Caroline is a stay-at-home mom to three girls, Lorelai (7), Bridget (5), and Katherine (0). Caroline and her family moved to Celina in 2021 and immediately fell in love with the community. Caroline has loved getting involved at Lykins since her oldest daughter started Kindergarten in 2024. This will be her third year serving on the PTA board and second as the President, previously as the Secretary. She can’t wait to bring fun and educational programs to Lykins this year and advocate for all of its students!

  • Elizabeth LcCoume

    Vice President

    Hi, I’m Elizabeth LaCoume. I was born and raised in Texas and spent a few years in Oklahoma for college. My husband and I moved to Celina in 2015 and have loved growing our family in this community. My daughter will be in the 1st grade at Lykins and my son is 4 years old. In my free time I love reading, reality TV and spending time with my family on the lake.

    I’m honored to serve as VP this year. I believe we have an outstanding PTA board and it’s going to be an amazing year for the students and staff.

  • Amanda Sellars

    VP Membership

    Hi, I’m Amanda! Originally from Florida, I’ve proudly called Texas home for the past 12 years and moved to Celina in 2021. My oldest son, Cayden, is in second grade, and my youngest, Wesley, is 3 years old. I work full-time in healthcare, and in my free time I enjoy reading, pilates, and spending time with family and friends. I’ve been fortunate to volunteer with the PTA for the past two years, and I’m excited to serve on the board this year alongside such an amazing team!

  • Alischa Parker

    VP Programs

    Hi, I'm Alischa Parker and my son Nick will be in the 4th grade at Lykins. My family has lived in Celina for 3 years and we have enjoyed being part of the growing community.
    I'm a working mom, but when I have free time, I enjoy hiking, reading and traveling. I'm excited to serve on the PTA board and looking forward to an amazing 2026-2027 school year.

  • Clint Carlton

    VP Funding

    Clint is the father of 4th grade student Gia. Before coming to Lykins last year, Clint served for 3 years in various roles on the PTA Board in their prior school. Currently, Clint serves as the Executive Director of CARE Dallas, an organization that has been educating students in substance use, mental health, and bullying for over 42 years.

  • Chelsea Henderson

    Treasurer

    Hi! I’m Chelsea, proud mom of four - Shepherd (1st), Walker (4), Tucker (2), and Perry (0). I am excited to serve again as PTA Treasurer. Before diving into the world of motherhood and school activities, I worked as a CPA, so spreadsheets and budgets are my comfort zone! I’m passionate about supporting our school community and look forward to helping make this year amazing for the students and staff!

  • Kelly Sims

    Secretary

    I’m Kelly Sims and I’m a working mom of 2 and we’ve called Celina home for 4 years. I’m honored to serve as the PTA Secretary at Lykins where my son, Drew will be in kindergarten and my daughter, Makayla will be in 5th grade a Willard Middle School, where I also serve on the PTA board as Volunteer Chair.

    When I’m not at school events, you’ll most likely find me on the softball or flag football sidelines cheering on my kids. I’m excited to help keep our PTA support our amazing teachers, staff and volunteers  to make this a fun and successful year for every student.
