How can I get involved?

What is a PTA?

The PTA is a national organization made up of parents, teachers, staff, school administrators and community leaders devoted to child advocacy. Long story short - it’s a group of people who want to make their school a better place for every single student.

If I join, do I have to volunteer all of the time?

No! We will never force you to volunteer. Although we always welcome volunteers, we know that everyone has their own things going on and that’s okay! You can support the PTA in other ways!

If I work full time, can I still be a member of the PTA?

YES! Most of our PTA members ARE working parents! There are so many ways to help the students while still maintaining a full time job!

Meet Our Team

  • Caroline Shoemaker

    President

    Caroline is a stay-at-home mom to two girls, Lorelai (6) and Bridget (4). Caroline and her family moved to Celina in 2021 and immediately fell in love with the community. Caroline has loved getting involved at Lykins since her daughter started Kindergarten last year. This will be her second year serving on the PTA board, previously as the secretary. She can’t wait to bring fun and educational programs to Lykins this year and advocate for all of its students!

  • Kristy Blank

    Vice President

    Kristy is a mama of twins Adalyn & Kason (10) and son Maverick (8). She and her family moved to Texas 3 years ago and are loving it! Kristy enjoys helping in all aspects of her community, especially at Lykins. This is her second year serving on the PTA board, previously as VP Membership. Kristy is excited for this new school year and the fun it will bring for the kids!

  • Caitlin Giauque

    VP Membership

    Caitlin wasn’t born in Texas, but got here as fast as she could! She grew up in McKinney and loves living in Celina and raising her kiddos Mary Kate (4th grade) and Travis (1st grade) with her husband Geoff. Most Friday nights you’ll find them downtown at one of their local favorites!

  • Ivy Sisney

    VP Programs

    Ivy moved to Celina in 2020 with her husband, Brock, and two girls, Charleigh and Chandler. They love being residents of Celina and are all heavily involved within the community. Ivy is very passionate about engaging with other members of the community. She is looking forward to shifting that passion towards the students and parents of Lykins as the VP of Programs this year!

  • Stefanie Neilson

    VP Funding

    Stefanie is a mom to son James (6), who will be in 1st grade this year, and daughter Josefine (4), who will start at Lykins next year. Stefanie and her family love spending their weekends on the sports fields (Go Bobcats!), at the lake, or just enjoying time with family and friends. She loves Celina and is exited to be a part of growing culture & community and help bring valuable programs to Lykins.

  • Chelsea Henderson

    Treasurer

    Hi! I’m Chelsea, proud mom of three boys - Shepherd (kinder), Walker (3), and Tucker (1). I am excited to serve as this year’s PTA Treasurer. Before diving into the world of motherhood and school activities, I worked as a CPA, so spreadsheets and budgets are my comfort zone! I’m passionate about supporting our school community and look forward to helping make this year amazing for the students and staff!

  • Sara McNeal

    Secretary

    I am the wife to my wonderful husband Patrick, mother of two kiddos, Piper (5th grade) and Witt (8th grade). I am the instructional coach at Lykins. We have lived in Celina since 2017 and love it! When I’m not at school, you can find me cheering my kids on at cheer, dance, or the baseball field. In my spare time I love to read and spend time with my friends! This is my second year serving on the PTA board. I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Lykins!

    Hi, my name is Lauren! I’m an attorney based in Denton and a proud mom of three. With one child currently at Lykins, I’m excited to be involved in the PTA and support our amazing students and staff!
